The following is important information regarding the 2008 Calgary Bull Sale for anyone interested in buying bulls. We hope this information is beneficial to you as you make plans to attend our 2008 beef bull show and sale. If you are looking for maps, please click here for General Sale Information.
Buyer Registration
The Alberta Cattle Breeders Association requires potential buyers to register and secure a bid card to participate in the 2008 Calgary Bull Sale.
Each potential buyer will be required to stop at the Buyer Registration Office in the Agriculture Barn to register and obtain a bid card.
This will eliminate the buyer having to fill out a Sale Agreement for each bull purchased during the sale.
The Buyer Registration Office will be open Monday, March 3th until Thursday, March 6th from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. for your convenience.
Movement of Bulls
Buyers and a Focus Group told us that they would like to have the opportunity to see the bulls walk more freely. The Big Top Tent is available for this purpose and we encourage you to ask the consigner to take the bulls to the Big Top Tent where there is ample room to view the movement of the bull.
Hotels
We have negotiated preferred rates at two hotels close to Stampede Park for those attending the Calgary Bull Sale.
These hotels are, The Blackfoot Inn

(1-877-287-3900)
Shuttle Service
For your convenience complementary shuttle service is available from the Blackfoot and the Best Western Inn. Shuttle times will be posted at the hotels and at the Bull Sale office located in the center of the Agriculture Building.

Trucking
The Alberta Cattle Breeders Association as agent of the Calgary Bull Sale will arrange trucking of bulls upon request for both large and small loads. When settlement is made at the Sales Office, please let the staff know that you require trucking and these arrangements can be made on your behalf. Sellers are responsible for the delivery of bulls within Alberta borders and to coordinate the delivery of the bulls to points beyond. A $50 per bull discount will be credited to the buyer transporting their bull(s). A $50 fee will be deducted from those consignors that do not arrange for the delivery of the sold bulls.
Export Services
The staff of the Alberta Cattle Breeders Association and the Calgary Stampede will assist all United States Citizens who purchase bulls with the export requirements for the Canadian and United States authorities. This can be arranged at the Sales Office when you settle for your bull purchase(s). Further information on these procedures can be found on page 22 of the Calgary Bull Sale Catalogue.
Insurance
There will be three different livestock insurance agency booths set-up in the Calgary Stampede Agriculture Barn for your convenience, should you wish to buy insurance on your bull purchases. These booths will be located across from the Sales Office in the central area of the Agriculture Building.
